Our Tanoak honey comes from our hives that live the Boonville area. These bee's have a taste for the flowers of a unique native oak tree that grows alongside conifers, typically found along the coastal range of California and Oregon; the Tanoak. This is the most unusual honey we offer, with a strong flavor similar to Molasses. When freshly harvested, it has a slight bitter hint that mellows as the honey ages. If you like to try unusual honey, this will be your cup of tea.
Plants the bee's foraged to create this honey include but limited to:
Tanoak, Blackberry, Madrone, Lavender
Tanoak Honey
Keep me in a warm dry place. Never heat me up in the microwave, as it will kill the healthy enzymes! Instead, heat up some water in a bowl and let me sit in it in my jar for a couple hours, or set me by a heater.
Avoid double dipping since water in the honey pot will make it spoil.
I will never "go bad", as long as water never enters my jar!
And as always, I'm Local, Raw & Unfiltered. As I should be(e).
