Ready to give beekeeping a try? Our bee nuc's are a great way to get started. You will receive five frames of Italian bee's, brood, honey and a new laying Queen, all born and bred in Mendocino County.
If you prefer to pay at time of pickup, please email killianhoney@gmail.com to be placed on the waiting list. Please include your name, phone number, and how many nucs you would like.
Cancellations are charged a $10 processing fee per nuc.

What is a "Nuc"?
Nuc is short for Nucleus, referring to the smaller size and quality of the frames. It includes an established Queen bee and 5 frames of bees with honey and developing brood.

When do I get my bees?
You will receive a phone call or email two weeks ahead of time to schedule your pickup in Hopland, CA. This will fall around the end of April or beginning of May, weather depending. All pickups are in the evening.

Does the nuc come with a hive box?
The Nuc does not come with equipment, you will need a hive box with frames for your new colony.
